Good day my beloved blogees.
After a long week and weekend, traveling from Las Vegas back home, it saddens me to report the massacre in my city last night.
Three innocent people became victims of a horrifying shooting spree inside and outside Mercy Hospital located near Chicago’s South Loop. Juan Lopez entered the ER yesterday afternoon and after an altercation with his ex-fiance, he opened fire, killing three people before being shot down by police.
Tamara O’Neal, the ex-fiance and ER physician, Dayna Less, a pharmaceutical resident, and Samuel Jimenez, a Chicago police officer, lost their lives at the hands of Lopez. According to reports, he is no stranger to endangering the lives of others.
Lopez threatened to open fire at a Chicago Fire Department training center in 2013. Also, in 2014 an order of protection was filed against Lopez by another woman he was involved with. This man was already a threat to society.
The shootout apparently beginning with a misunderstanding over an engagement ring. There is no record of whether Lopez shot himself or was fatally shot by police.
Our hearts go out to the families, friends, and co-workers of the victims.
