Hello and High My Lovely Loyal Blogees!
When we talk about medical cannabis, often politics and business get in the way of the medical part. So I am honored to bring on powerful Black women who are professionals in the medical field, like this week’s Women in Cannabis Wednesday feature! This week’s #WCW is Dr. Felecia L. Dawson, the first physician in Georgia to be board certified in holistic medicine!
Check the conversation below, she is such an inspiration!
Dr. Felecia L. Dawson is board certified in obstetrics, gynecology and integrative medicine. She is the founder of Women for Women, PC. She is the first physician in the State of Georgia, practicing obstetrics and gynecology, to be board certified in holistic medicine. She is a Clinical Instructor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University School of Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor at Morehouse School of Medicine. She retired from obstetrics in 2008. Her areas of expertise include nutrition, detoxification, fibroids, menopause, and recurrent infections.
In December 2016, Dr. Dawson closed her medical practice, Women for Women, to focus on advocating, educating and consulting on medical cannabis full time. She works with multiple grass root organizations to decriminalize this amazing plant that has been used for millennia by humans as food, medicine, fiber and more. She is a member of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians. Her ultimate goal is to help people see how much power they have in achieving optimal health in body, mind, and spirit.
Regardless of the industry, women in cannabis are also fighting for decriminalization. Dr. Felecia, we thank you for being a leader in both cannabis medicine and advocacy. Your work is truly needed and appreciated!
